  • The scheme is being offered by Life Insurance Corporation and all other life insurers who are willing to offer the product on similar terms with necessary approvals and tie up with banks for this purpose.
  • Age group of 18 to 50 years having a bank account who give their consent to join / enable auto-debit.
  • The life cover of Rs. 2 lakhs shall be for the one year period stretching from 1st June to 31st May and will be renewable. Risk coverage under this scheme is for Rs. 2 Lakh in case of death of the insured, due to any reason.
  • The premium is Rs. 330 per annum which is to be auto-debited in one instalment from the subscriber’s bank account as per the option given by him on or before 31st May of each annual coverage period under the scheme.

  • The scheme has been launched by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, with the objective of providing financial security in health, life and education to the poor, deprived rural children in our country.
  • The beginning of the Shishu Vikas Yojana is to provide assistance to the children of poor and deprived families of the country who are financially weak.
  • Coverage of Rs 2.5 lakh per child will be given for the health of these children under the Pradhan Mantri Shishu Vikas Yojana, along with financial security of Rs 5 lakh per child will be provided by the government for providing higher education to these children

  • Farmers share of premium is Rs. 453 crores and with subsidy from State/Central Govts RS.1909 Crores, gross Premium is Rs.2362 Crores for the 5 seasons together.
  • Whilst the claims of Kharif 18 and Rabi 18 are under process, we have closed the first 3 seasons with a gross premium amount of Rs.1804 Crores collected from 35,22,616 farmers and claims to the tune of Rs.1703 crores were paid, by which 17,66,455 no of farmers benefited, which shows almost 50% of the farmers insured were benefitted.

  • The RWBCIS was launched on 18th February 2016 by Hon’ble Prime Minister.
  • The Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) aims to mitigate the hardship of the insured farmers against the likelihood of financial loss on account of anticipated crop loss resulting from adverse weather conditions relating to rainfall, temperature, wind, humidity etc.
  • Weather Station (RWS) or Backup Weather Station (BWS) as the case may be, and the claims process shall commence once the weather data is received.
  • Claims processing are strictly as per the insurance term sheets, payout structure and the Scheme provisions. All standard Claims are processed and paid within 45 days from the end of the risk period.
  • The scheme is being administered by the Ministry of Agriculture.

The government of India to promote small and budding entrepreneurs of post-independent India, decided to establish a government agency which can mediate and provide help to SMEs.

  • National Small Industries Corporation has an objective to provide machinery on hire purchase basis and assisting and marketing in exports.
  • Further, SMEs registered with NSIC were exempted from paying Earnest money and provided the facility of free participation in government tendered purchases.
  • Also for training persons the training facilities centres and for providing assistance in modernising the small industries several branches of NSIC were opened up by the government over the years in several big and small towns, where small industries were growing.
  • NSIC also helps in organising supply of raw materials like coal, iron, steel and other materials and even machines needed by SMEs by mediating with other government companies like Coal India Limited, Steel Authority of India Limited, Hindustan Copper Limited and many others, who produce this materials to provide same at concessional rates to SMEs.

  • The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (M/o MSME) has launched a subsidy scheme which is named as Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (which is the CLCSS full form) for technology up-gradation of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE’s).
  • The primary focus of this scheme is to provide growth and development of Small Scale Industries (SSI) in rural and urban areas.
  • The objective of the Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme for Technology Upgradation is to offer 15% upfront capital subsidy on institutional finance availed by the SSI units, including khadi, tiny, village, and coir industries.

  • Stand-Up India (SUI) scheme for financing SC/ST and/or Women Entrepreneurs has been launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister (PM) on April 05, 2016.
  • The objective of the SUI scheme is to facilitate bank loans between Rs.10 lakh and Rs. 1 Crore to at least one Scheduled Caste (SC) or Scheduled Tribe (ST) borrower and at least one woman borrower per bank branch for setting up a greenfield enterprise.
  • This enterprise may be in manufacturing, services, agri-allied activities or the trading sector. In case of non-individual enterprises at least 51% of the shareholding and controlling stake should be held by either an SC/ST or woman entrepreneur.
